游戏提供了三种模式，分别如下：

A、NORMALMODE：普通模式，不受任何限制，玩家可以尽情地体验游戏，搜索游戏的每一个角落；

B、TIMEATTACK：时间模式，需要在一小时内完成游戏的全部14个关卡；

C、SURVIVAL：挑战模式，在没有一次死亡的情况下一小时内通过全部14个关卡。

游戏保留了原始版本的剧情，讲述了王子拯救公主的故事，剧情一向都不是波斯王子系列作为主要的表现。本作也不例外，游戏中剧情很少，只有在部分关卡的起始会穿插一些简短的画面与文字。
